This vast public recreation area, covering around 1 kilometre from the hotel, includes 6 square kilometres of woodland, meadows, playgrounds, wetlands and various bodies of water. It is perfect for relaxing, exercising, walking, picnicking and much more.
Vienna's biggest concert venue (Happel Stadion) is also located in the Prater Area.
Right by the underground just minutes from the city centre
Just 100 metres from the hotel, Rochusgasse underground station (U3
line) provides quick and easy connections. From there, you can reach
Stephansplatz in five minutes, the Opera and Hofburg Palace in just a
few stops, and Vienna International Airport via the City Airport Train
(CAT) in only one stop. The whole of Vienna, from the city centre to its
major sights, is within easy reach.

Numerous small restaurants popular with locals are nearby, including
Lubin (fish), El Gaucho (steak and international cuisine), and several
Asian restaurants such as Akakiko, Matcha Komachi and Ninety-One.

Hundertwasserhaus
Hundertwasser House on Kegelgasse is just 900 metres away. Its colourful façades, uneven floors and green rooftops can be viewed free of charge from the outside at any time. Just a few steps further, you will find KunstHausWien, the Hundertwasser Museum, with paintings, architectural visions and a building that is itself a walk-through work of art.
Both highlights are easily reached on foot from Hotel SPIESS & SPIESS, without taking the underground and right in Vienna’s third district.

St. Stephen’s Cathedral / St. Stephen’s Square
Vienna’s heart is just 8 minutes from Hotel SPIESS & SPIESS. Take the U3 from Rochusgasse, only 100 metres from the hotel, and arrive after three stops.
St. Stephen’s Cathedral is Vienna’s landmark and one of Europe’s most important Gothic buildings. Climb the South Tower for one of the city’s finest views.
The surrounding streets of Vienna’s city centre, including Graben, Kohlmarkt and Kärntner Straße, are perfect for strolling, shopping and exploring. As the third district borders the first, Stephansplatz can also be reached on foot or by bike via the Ringstraße.

Belvedere Castle
Belvedere Palace is one of Europe’s finest Baroque ensembles. It can be reached from Hotel SPIESS & SPIESS in 14 minutes by public transport or enjoyed as a pleasant walk through Vienna’s third district. The Upper Belvedere is home to Klimt’s The Kiss, one of the world’s most visited paintings, as well as extensive gardens perfect for a leisurely stroll.
Just a few minutes’ walk from the Belvedere, the Botanical Garden of the University of Vienna offers more than 10,000 plant species. Admission is free, making it a lovely addition to your museum visit.

MAK – Museum of Applied Arts
On the way to the city centre, you can visit a modern museum that is often less crowded. Located directly opposite Stadtpark, the MAK is one of the world’s oldest museums of applied arts. The building, designed by Heinrich von Ferstel, and its changing exhibitions are both well worth seeing. Don’t miss Salonplafond, the museum’s popular restaurant and café.

Green Prater & Wurstelprater
The Green Prater offers 6 km² of woodland, meadows and playgrounds. It is ideal for a walk, a run or a leisurely bike ride along the famous Hauptallee. You can reach it in just 6 minutes by bicycle or 20 minutes on foot.
