Breakfast at Hotel Spiess & Spiesswith the whole family

A great day starts with a great breakfast – for kids and grown-ups alike! At Boutique Hotel Spiess & Spiess, families enjoy a generous 100% organic breakfast buffet thoughtfully put together with children's tastes in mind.

Kids will love the colorful selection of high-quality organic products: cocoa, hazelnut-chocolate spread, honey pops, chocolate muesli, sausages, scrambled eggs, and fresh fruit – all organic, of course.

And while the little ones dig in, the adults can indulge too. Start your morning with an organic coffee that's literally traveled by sail from South America to Europe – our sail-shipped coffee from Segelwerk takes a long, but climate-friendly journey before it reaches your cup. Feeling festive? Try a breakfast sparkling wine, optionally with a splash of homemade sloe berry syrup. Add a selection of Austrian organic cheeses  and hearty whole-grain bread from the organic Hofbäckerei Mauracher – that's what a Viennese morning tastes like.

Invite Family or Friends for Breakfast

Visiting Vienna for a family occasion? Want to meet up with relatives or friends over breakfast during your stay? No problem! Boutique Hotel Spiess & Spiess warmly welcomes external guests for breakfast, even without an overnight stay. As capacity is limited, we kindly ask you to enquire in advance so we can make sure there's a lovely spot for everyone.

Vienna with KidsOur Personal Favorite Tips

As a family-run hotel, we know what makes a great family outing: experiences that excite the kids – while keeping parents happy too. Here are our personal favorite tips for exploring Vienna with family, straight from our own experience.

Remise – Verkehrsmuseum of Wiener Linien

Just two subway stops and a short walk from the hotel, you'll find one of Vienna's finest technical museums: the Remise, the transit museum of the Wiener Linien. Historic trams, subway cars, and buses to marvel at – and touch! A real highlight for tech-loving kids (and dads!). Ever wondered why the old U1 line has that peculiar smell? You'll find out here! A perfect outing for the whole family, rain or shine.

Hundertwasser House

Just a 12-minute walk from the hotel, you'll find one of Vienna's most iconic landmarks: the Hundertwasserhaus. Colorful facades, uneven floors, rooftop gardens – kids love the extraordinary architecture, and adults are equally captivated. Free to view from the outside, any time.

Kegelgasse 36–38, 1030 Wien

Tip: A short walk further brings you to KunstHausWien - Museum Hundertwasser - with a wonderful family program: guided family tours take children on a
journey through the permanent exhibition, exploring the artist's vibrant buildings and his deep connection to nature. With wavy floors, colorful mosaics, and lush greenery throughout, the museum itself is a work of art to experience. Both highlights can easily be combined in one morning – with no long distances, right in the 3rd district, just a short stroll from our boutique hotel.

Wiener Prater - a Must-See

The historic Roller Coaster (HochschaubahnA classic for over 100 years: the roller coaster in the Wurstelprater is a must for anyone who enjoys a little thrill – but don't worry, it's
perfectly suitable for younger children too. One of the oldest rollerc oasters in the world, and still a highlight with plenty of nostalgic charm! (Those looking for more excitement will find no shortage of other attractions in the Wiener Wurstelprater!)

Rickshaw Ride through the Green Prater Right next to the roller coaster, you'll also find a bike rental – with a special twist: you can hire a rickshaw for the whole family! Instead of walking through the vast 6 km² green space on foot, simply cruise along the famous Prater Hauptallee in relaxed style – fun, easy-going, and a real adventure for the little ones.

Lilliputbahn – Miniature Railway The charming Lilliputbahn winds its way for around 4 km through the Green Prater – on some days complete with a steam train experience – and is an absolute must for kids. Season: approximately March to October, weather permitting.

Kugeltanz – Bowling & Restaurant Located right in the Prater, Kugeltanz combines bowling and dining in a relaxed Viennese style – ideal for an evening when you're looking for something active yet laid-back after a long day out.
Our tip: book a lane in advance!

Minigolf in the Heart of the Cityin front of the MuseumsQuartier

Right in the heart of Vienna, just in front of the MuseumsQuartier, twelve artist-designed miniature golf sculptures await the whole family. Art meets fun – and afterwards, the spacious MQ courtyard with its cafés and restaurants is perfect for a leisurely break.

Take the subway from the hotel to Volkstheater station – the minigolf course is right in front of the MuseumsQuartier, at the corner of Mariahilfer Straße, directly opposite the Kunsthistorisches Museum.
